Clinical Bridging Course (Fast-Track)

This fee-paying Clinical Bridging Course is a full-time 12 week hospital-based program open to Victorian and interstate candidates.

The course consists of tutorials/lectures, communication skills and role-play workshops. Candidates are provided with tutorials in Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatric and Psychiatry. Also included are other clinical topics, medico-legal issues and communications. Candidates will experience the working environment of a number of public hospitals and medical clinics during this course.

Also included in this course is a Clinical Trial Exam, similar to the AMC clinical exam with 16 OSCE stations of 8 minutes each. Individual and group feedback is provided.

A maximum of 32 candidates are selected on to the course using the following selection criteria:

A pass in the AMC MCQ exam
An interview may be needed to assess:
- Communication skills
- Medical knowledge
- Commitment to the course
- Achievements whilst in Australia as well as overseas

Fee

The fee for this course is $7,470.00 (includes GST) & is subject to review.

Clinical Bridging Course (FEE-HELP)

This 18 week course is a full-time, hospital-based program consisting of bedside tutorials and teaching tutorials in Medicine, Surgery, O&G, Paediatrics and Psychiatry covering diagnostic and management consulting skills. Also included are examination role-playing workshops and communication skills training, other clinical topics and medico-legal issues. Candidates are rotated through two public hospitals during this course and will benefit from experiencing the working environment of the Australian hospital system.

Under an auspicing agreement with a university, eligible candidates can obtain financial assistance from the Government in the form of the FEE-HELP loan - an interest-free loan facility to be repaid through the taxation system. Candidates do not need to apply for FEE-HELP first - successful candidates will be provided with the FEE-HELP loan documentation at enrolment.

The cost of this course is $12,575.00 (subject to review). Candidates may utilise the FEE-HELP loan or pay the course fee upfront. Candidates are issued with a Student Card.
